The OHS Act places a heavy burden on Employers to safeguard the safety and health of their employees regarding Class A Confined Space entries. Safety Adherence Technology (S.A.T.) developed a digital, interactive electronic safety surveillance and record-keeping system, which operates from a single control room per area. The basic requirements when employees enter and work in potentially hazardous environments, and specifically confined spaces, can be summarised as follows:
- Procedures for Clients performing work to receive authorization to enter confined spaces.
- Proper control measures to ensure a safe and healthy working environment.
- Measures to supervise and manage these control measures on identification of conditions and circumstances which may endanger the Safety or Health & Safety of personnel (Own and Client).
- Ensure continuous visual surveillance and recording.
- Surveillance during a process which might be considered potentially hazardous or Dangerous (X-Rays).
- Pro-actively identifies, reports and where possible, control and/or correct potential safety hazards which may endanger the safety and health of employees.
The Top Fix Group believes that the current boom within the construction sector and the continued focus on the development of infrastructure in Southern Africa will raise the demand for the provision of scaffolding and labour to these markets. Each of the Top Fix Group subsidiaries is profitable operations, on a stand-alone basis, with sound financial and administrative infrastructures.
